Easy Taylor Swift Friendship Bracelets For Your DIY Era
Last Updated on October 31, 2024 by Beth Martin
There are so many fun parts to the Eras Tour that it’s impossible to pick a favorite. But swapping friendship bracelets with fellow Swifties is definitely at the top of my list.
I was lucky to go to Stockholm in May with a few friends and my husband to see Taylor Swift. It was an otherworldly experience, and even though it’s been months, we are all still constantly wearing our bracelets.
I love an easy DIY, and making bracelets couldn’t be easier.
So whether you are attending the Eras Tour, having a Taylor Swift-inspired crafty party, or want to bond with new friends over your shared love, let’s get crafting!
Eras Tour Friendship Bracelet Supplies
First things first, for any crafting activity, gather all your supplies. This is a simple list, but it’s easier with good materials.
Here is everything I used when making bracelets for the Eras Tour:
- Beads – I used three sets:
- Alphabet Bead KitโI love this multicolor set, which includes an elastic sting. If you prefer only black-and-white letters, this kit is a great option.
- 4mm Pony Beads
- Fun Shaped Beadsโtotally not necessary, but so fun.
- Elastic StringโI made about 40 bracelets, so I needed more than the kit provided.
- Masking tape or Painters tape
- Scissors
- G-S Hypo CementโThis is optional, but it will assure you that your friendship bracelets won’t break.

DIY Taylor Swift Eras Tour Bracelets
Now that you have all your supplies, let’s make some Taylor Swift bracelets!
Prepare Your Beads
It sounds silly, but spelling gets tricky when you make a bunch of friendship bracelets. To make things easier, lay out your alphabet beads first.
I found it easier to have a color combination in mind before I started the friendship bracelets.
Have a list ready with your favorite song titles, album names, and other Taylor Swift inside jokes so you can get all the important ones. I found this fantastic spreadsheet on Reddit that was beyond helpful – this creator deserves a prize!
Cut The Elastic
Measure your wrist or a bracelet you like to wear. Cut a length of elastic string 3-4″ longer than the desired length.
Cutting your string too short will make your friendship bracelet hard to tie, so longer is better here.
Put a piece of masking tape on one end so your beads won’t fall while you string them. Masking tape is much easier to remove than regular Scotch tape.
Add Beads
Before adding the letters, add a few pony and decorative beads to your friendship bracelet. Be as creative as you want with your color combinations. I went all out here!
I love how these decorative beads add extra fun to my bracelets, but the black paint on the smiley faces rubbed off quickly. They are still cute, but the beads without the faces will be better.
Use one or two pony beads as spacers between words or abbreviated song titles. Then, finish your bracelets with more pony beads until you reach your desired length.
The alphabet beads don’t need to be exactly centered because the knot will be small and practically hidden.
I made all my friendship bracelets at once and tied them all later. If you want to do the same, add another small piece of masking tape at the end of the bracelet to hold your beads until you are ready.
Pre-Stretch The Elastic
This step is very important so your friendship bracelets won’t stretch out over time.
Hold the elastic on either end and stretch it out four or five times. It’s stronger than it looks, so don’t worry about being too careful.
This will loosen the string, but it will still be very stretchy.
Of my many friendship bracelets, only one broke during this step, and I still find the occasional bead!
Tie Your Friendship Bracelets
I used this YouTube video to tie my knots. She does an excellent job of clearly explaining the knot steps, and I highly recommend it.
If you are anything like me, you must watch this video a few times to get this knot right, but it’s easier than it looks.
Add Glue
You could skip this step, but after all my hard work, I didn’t want my friendship bracelets to break. Just a little dot of glue will hold this knot for months of wearing.
The hardest part of this step is closing the adhesive cap. You must insert this tiny needle on the cap into the tube of the adhesive, which is a pain. But gluing was still worth it!
Wear + Trade
Now wear your Eras Tour bracelets proudly, and don’t forget to trade with fellow Swifties.
If you are traveling to a concert, I highly recommend vacuum-packing your bracelets. This really helped me save precious suitcase space.
I don’t have a serious vacuum sealer, so I just used these bags. They are so helpful for packing!

Don’t have time to DIY friendship bracelets before the concert? You are still in luck!

That’s A Wrap!
Whether you are going to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour or just a massive fan of Taylor’s music, I highly recommend making friendship bracelets. It’s one of those crafts that will make you feel like a kid in the best way.
My one concert tip is to be prepared with plenty of friendship bracelets to trade with other fans. It’s such a fun way to bond with other Swifties even before you get to the stadium.
It’s no exaggeration to say that some fans we gave bracelets to in Stockholm before the show got teary-eyed because they were so excited. It was so cute!
The best bracelet I got in Stockholm says “Gruel Sommar,” and I will cherish it for life.
Have so much fun making bracelets, and please reach out with any Eras Tour questions!
